Welding rear suspession

I've discovered why my ride might be a bit choppy:

It looks like to stud that comes up from the rear wishbone has rusted off. Can this be welded back into position? Before I vist the garage and get ripped off would appreciate your views.

If the rest of the arm is in GOOD order then yes ,and I think the yard does the part

Brickwerks do a repair panel for this although I'm sure one could be made up with a little thought.

Yes found them on Brickwerks - great. I just need to take the other side wheel off to see if I need two of these.

Sounds like it is an easy weld job so I'm going to buy myself a welder and get started

Any recommendations on which welder?

Its a proper load bearing component that trailing arm, I'd leave it to someone with a bit more experience to be honest. If you need to ask which welder I am guessing you haven't done much. I have been practising for a few months and I wouldn't take on anything more than a cab step for my first attempt. wouldn't hurt to get it exposed and prepped so a mobile welder just needs to jump in and do his bit maybe?

save your money on a welder as one to do the job would cost more than I would charge for the repair so as Bob has said either take it some [lace reputable or clean prep and get a mb fella in
