Last Tues, the Doka was finally ready for its Controle Technique (MOT) and the exhaust blew a hole on the way there!!! patched it up and told the guy..
He failed it on no french registration!! and the number plate bulb not working.. the exhaust was just a remark as was play in the lower ball joints!! (but I could drive now for 2 months with a fail cert!!!)
Got to the Prefecture (local Gov office for registration) 5 mins before closing.. the girl wanted to go home, so she hardly looked at the papers and gave us the new registration..

here it is that eve.

A few bits of service etc and on Thurs it was loaded up for the french syncro club do in the Cantal. dropped in to the CT man to show him the reg doc and plates + the lights working and he gave us the pass.. off we go..
250km later.. some big climbs and the exhaust ewas blowing well.. repaired Fri morn.. and off onto the first set of trails.. wow... what a learning curve, steep narrow rocky climbs... with tight hairpins.. the skies open'd and made things interesting... for some!!!
top of a muddy forest climb that caused a few stuck syncros..

Saturday saw more muddy and rocky tracks.. with one route climbing at impossible angles (well I wouldnt have thought possible!!) but being led by 2 of the most experienced syncro members.. I had not a lot of choice!! follow or chicken out and return to camp.. not an option..
We found a nice spot for lunch, by a small river..

Sunday morning.. I was invited by the same experienced drivers to tag along again.. I couldnt have been too bad then!!!
This time it was the hairiest rocky track climb we had seen all weekend... barely wide enough for the syncro in places.. and I was wishing for more power even in G gear..
We finaly hit the lunch spot and the others arrived in groups after..

What a great weekend.. again made to feel very welcome and my doka with its tyres was discussed in great depth.. several had seen how easy I made some climbs and crossed a soggy field where most had to use sheer speed and brute force.. (cant believe nobody broke anything..)
Some of you guys should try and make a "Special Sortie"
Sorry for not having many pics.. but by the time we realised it would have been a good photo opportunity.. we had crossed/climbed/etc it... There should be a bit of video coming my way, from the vehicle in front.. of a very tight down hill hairpin where I was playing at "sea saw"..... after having to do a reverse to get round.
Must get a digital camcorder...
Must get over for a 80-90 syncro do...
Got to do a few jobs to the old girl now though.. first being a new exhaust system!!!
