Unable to reset trip odometer

Post by dazzler441 »

Hopefully a quick question, when I press the reset button I cannot get the trip odometer to reset to all zeros. It's only a minor problem because I can work out the miles I'm doing from the value on it, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and would like it to reset properly. Is it a messy complicated job if one of the cogs is broken or loose? Is it easier just to get a new speedo from fleabay?
All help appreciated.

Hello,

I had this problem and it's not too bad to take the speedo out and dismantling and reassembling - it solved it for me - I think a bit of something had broken off jamming the cogs, but I know the problem can lie in the sealed bit and be more troublesome. In my opinion it's definitely worth carefully taking off the PCB, getting the speedo out and dismantling with lots of light on a table, being careful not to lose any bits! I have a spare broken speedo and so if you find a bit missing or that's broken I might have a spare bit that you need.

Hope you manage to fix it

Ewen
