Thought my luck was in

Post by slobbo »

My contract is coming to an end so I have been looking for more work and came across a job in Milton Keynes that looked like what I do. Submitted my CV and received a call from the agent. Job sounded good and it was working for VW Audi group result. Then they asked what money I wanted. I told the agent and he went "ahhhh". They are offering crap money. Well below market. You'd think they'd pay at least market when they charge well above market for the Skodas they sell with VW badges on them.

I'd love a new Transporter (T5) but they are just so expensive. To get a decent a vehicle that is a little posher than a builders van your into sports car money. The base model caravelle £34000. I could buy a nice Lotus Elise or an entry level Boxster for that money. It is only a builders van with windows for goodness sake.

Who else thinks they are over priced?
Cheers
Rob.

New VW's always were expensive once into the 1980's and now probably always will be...how anyone can afford a new Caravelle now is anyone's guess! Our 'C-plate syncro C with lovely brown vinyl and not even a dipping rear mirror or radio was Range-Rover money back then.

Expensive compared to what other 4x4 camper/people carrier? There is an awful lot of them out there and they are absolutely brilliant to drive, comfy as you like, quick and reliable ..... Expensive? No. Yes I really want one too.

I had a t5 caravelle, paid top money. Had 45k on clock FSH. Midnight blue, all the toys. Stunning looking. Got my money back ( yes really!) from dealer after 3 weeks, new water pump and then turbo but main reason for chopping it in - stress. Van was just way too good for me and my 2 kids and 2 dogs, the country lanes and a wife who was driving on eggshells in my new pride and joy. Used the money to buy her a Touran ( piece of sh*t ) and a passat 130 estate for me. Almost the best VW I have ever owned peanuts to buy and run, more or less.
