Gearbox ratios & wheels

Post by serenitycamper »

Hey gus,

Ive just put my new 17" alloys on and due to my -29mm rolling radius (-4.43%) my engine is revving its nuts off at 50mph. Due to not having a rev counter I don't know how high it is but it sounds high.

I plan to fit a set of 225/50/17 to the front and 225/60/17 to the rear. This will give me a +0.46% at the front and a +7.34%. What is this going to do the gearing of my diesel 4 speed?

Thanks :ok

you need to look at it .

you can poss go by the sticker infront the drivers knee , but they can easily be changed.

look in the wiki for gearbox id

or aiden talbots gearbox site to help find it.

no point guessing , unless you know which gearbox you have you cant go any further sorting it out
