We failed to get the fridge working in our T25 and so I have whipped it out and put a little tabletop 12v/240v one in its place. Trouble is, I now have the open-ended gas pipe that used to go to the fridge dangling around. I can't help but feel that this would be deleterious to my health if I were to put the gas bottle in. We still want to run the cooker but obviously we want the fridge supply blocked off.
The local domestic gas shop does not have anything that small (don't have the pipe diameter to hand sadly) and the local caravan place say they migt be able to help but probably not.
It's also something that should not really be done by an amateur like myself. Can anyone advise?
Regards,
Alistair.

Re: Gas pipe stopper?
Should only really be done by a qualified person, but if you want to do it yourself it will be an 8mm compression cap. Or if you want to cap it off at the isolation valve it will most likely be a 1/4" female cap

Re: Gas pipe stopper?
Does the fridge supply not have a isolating valve on it? I know mine does so I can run the hobs with no gas going to the fridge.
An option could be to fit an isolating valve at a convenient place on the fridge supply pipe

Maybe if I talk to my friendly neighborhood gas shop, they could fit it.

You can buy an 8mm Compression End Stop for about 2 quid on ebay.
Test it doesn't leak with some Fairy liquid.

You still need to fit a cap, even if you have a isolation valve fitted. One of the biggest no-no's you can do in the gas game, go to jail without passing go
If you want to do a proper job, trace the copper pipe back to the isolation valve. Undo the nut and remove pipe. Fit a 1/4" female cap

Go to a plumb centre or some other over the counter trade place. They will have what you want

Being in the US mine my as well be different from yours. Anyway I plugged my lines from the LP tank with these 3/8" flare plugs, they are for gas lines.
