Westy Curtain
The Cab curtain (that has press studs to keep it in place) doesn't seem to fit in my van - it sags and I have to tuck it in over the sun visors to cover the windows.
My only frame of reference is a friends van - he has the same issue!
What's missing? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance...

Re: Westy Curtain
Think thats normal, thats how they all are.
Tuck behind rear view mirror and open sunvisors and trap between visor and windscreen,
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Westy Curtain
From memory these are elasticated. Just replace the elastic.

Re: Westy Curtain
Mine sags too. You can replace elastic, but I just do what others do and tuck it over the inside mirror and use the sun visors to fix in place. Not a problem.

more where it runs in the cab matey - decided over the weekend i want curtains to go through the cab properly rather than just behind the cab!
Re: Westy Curtain
Pretty much the elastic tape starts about 2"-3" from the windshield corner snaps going towards the rear of the van. From this starting point the tape will continue from snap to the opposite snap across the cabin. Make sure that you pull the elastic after the first side is stiched, but make sure that you din't pull it too tight or not tight enough. This could cause you to do some extra sewing to get it right.

Re: Westy Curtain
Another option is to buy replacement westie curtains from Gunzl under the sub heading 'drapes'

Re: Westy Curtain
I have an original Westfalia front curtain for sale (it was purchased from Gunzl and used a couple of times) and it is a lot cheaper than Gunzl at £75.
Have a look here for more details:

Re: Westy Curtain
We (well mostly Ash) replaced all our interior curtains with colour matched blackout fabric as the Westy ones let in too much light. For the front curtain over the cab it is still elasticated at the sides, but Ash stitched a cord into the front in addition to the studs. This pulls the curtain tight and ties around the rear view mirror, we still use the 2 sun visors to hold up the rest, but the tie cord make s a fair difference. I'll try and post up a picture later as my works PC won't let me on Photobucket.
