will a 30amp sterling b2b cut the mustard?

Post by xpress »

will a 30amp sterling battery to battery charger cut the mustard? or is it a bit slow compared to the 50/60amp + ones.

do you think it can be modded to output more or is that stuff programmed into the logic board?

what do you think?

let me know.

Its already at its maximum safe capacity - any more and it'll catch fire. More to the point you don't say what you're trying to achieve?

Easiest way to decide is;
80amp battery and 30amp charger = just over 3 hours to recharge from flat
80amp battery and 50amp charger = just about 2 hours to recharge from flat
So you need to decide what you want from it. Personally I wouldn't bother with the 30amp, why try to save an extra £50 odd, as soon as you get the 30amp, you'll wish you had the 50amp.

Go for the highest Amperage you can, when it comes to charging from an alternator the more the merryier!

Remember whatever unit you go for will be limited by the output of your alternator. What alternator do you have?
