Desided to fit a electric fuel fump to my 2lt air cooled today, all went good and it work fine, but what a noisey thing it is clatering away.
Dose anyone know of a quieter pump or is there any way of making it less noisey. Did think about mounting it on rubber to stop the noise , any ideas please.

Hello ,
with the facet pumps (I have one as a lift pump) you definitely need the rubber mounts - still a bit of ticking but you can't hear it when it's running on mine. Think the mounts are only about £5.

Thanks Ewen, where did you mount yours, i put mine about 12in after the fuel filter mounted to a hole on the chassis, this may not help.

Re: noisey facet fuel pump
Hello,
not sure it makes a difference but mine's a diesel and I use it to help the main pump out - I put it on the chassis rail a few inches away from the fuel tank supply itself, and have it at about 30 degrees inclined since they recommend 45 degrees - I couldn't find a way of doing that sensibly so I did it like that. I run it off a relay switched by the fuel shut off solenoid (diesel thing) and powered by the battery with a 5 amp fuse - my battery is under the back seat.
I was really impressed with the rubber mounts - previously I could hear it ticking under floor at idle - now not at all.

Rubber mounts it is then, as you said you can hear it ticking away under the floor when sat ticking over. Thanks for your info.
