is it possible to run a dg code motor LPG only

Post by dink »

i have read/ heard that petrol or gas needs ideally a different engine set up timing etc etc and to get them to run dual fuel they need to be set at a compromise between the 2, and that an engine that was LPG only might run more economicaly than it does set for dual fuel
is it possible, what modification would need to be made to the engine, valves timing etc etc
has it been done, can it be done

I think you need to speak to steve at Gasure.

my dg required no timing adjustments just tickover speed.

you can alter the economy anyway....but a 34p/L who cares

The DG maybe for perfect performance needs to have the timing adjusted a few degrees, but like Kev says, you're getting it well under half price now anyway.......and the petrol thing can be a good back up - I live in the centre of Derby, yet I have to travel 4 miles for LPG......

I remember Laurie Petit tuning some guy's engine at a show a few years ago, he had a large audience of admirers....

Watch out Steve, you'll never get away if you start doing your LPG magic in front of a crowd

i have read rumours bout that

I didn't start em, not this time.

Some very honest and trustworthy politicians have promised not to take away the tax break for ages yet. This may sound a poor reassurance but they didn't promise the voters, they promised Big Oil so I think you'll be OK.

Well there are all wrong, stop listening to rumours, if its going to rise I'd let you know, it is now capped unitl 2009 by the government.
If it rises at all it will be because of the price of bulk gas, last time it went up 2p / ltr, most oil companies swallowed that and you can still get it at 38p/l.
Hope that squashes the rumour mongers
