Recon engine supplier

Post by dubdogs »

Hi

I'm looking to get a recon engine, after looking around the web, I think I've narrowed down it down to either Vege or The Engine Shop; both are coming in at very similar prices for what appear to be a similar level of build. I haven't found anything with recent comments about them, so I was looking for any experiences or what people have heard of their recent reputations? Basically which would you go for?!

Cheers
:ok

My van was re-engined by the previous owner in 07 using an engine from the engine shop. He also had all the anciliaries done including a new fuel pump. I have all the paperwork from the engine shop and the garage that fitted it so I know it wasnt cobblers. The engine is now 20k young and pulls beautifully, in fact it was towing a trailer full of logs yesterday, and scaffold today which is no small effort for a 1.6d n/a!! Its my daily covering nearly 10k a year and its not missed a beat since I had it (touch wood :? ). So although I didnt buy it, I can offer something of a testimonial for The Engine Shop! :ok

Cheers for that. After speaking to them both again today, I think I'm leaning towards The Engine Shop, but gonna think on it for a bit longer!
