syncro logo embossed panel - from what vehicle?

Post by silverbullet »

Spotted on samba, compare the light reflections on the slider cover...I thought it was a sticker at first, then I realized that it's a pressing!

First one has sun from the left

Second has sun from the right, but which won't [img] for some reason :?

I would think it's a sticker.
The sun is from the right in that pic, look at the shadow on the van in front and the rear of the syncro letters are highlighted which would be in the shadow.
I can't see the other photo in the Samba post.

...or someone is "pooh" hot with a bead roller.
Could also be pressed, would only take a pair of laser cut dies and a large press.

Well spotted Sebastian  "...a pair of these embossed panels...you can't buy these anywhere..."

Very very cool indeed.

A pretty big press too. The logo looks about 400mm long? No ripples at the top crease so it's a quality job.

Now then, a pair of those on a RHD or twin-slider would look sweet. Sorry Westyfans, you can only get the one

Yes, they are pressed into the panel from the back(raised lettering) and not a sticker. I sent the panel from my tin top syncro to the guy and had mine pressed a few years ago. It is a really nicely done piece.
Apparently the dies are no longer available so they cannot be done by them any longer.
