(1) Go to Latvia and buy one direct for less than half the price
(2) Do a bit of research on country of origin and get VIN number checked, hate for buyer to *maybe* loose it in the future

When looking previously, lots of vans in baltics originated from scandinavia- obviously none were imported from new as they are/were all ex-commie countries so you will find they have all come from 'elsewhere'. However, after talking to a few German dealers, they have a self imposed blanket ban on buying from Poland etc . Syncros stolen from Germany, registered legitimately in 'new' country , bought by dealers cheap to bring back to Germany and then re-registered in Germany via there DVLA have thrown up LOTS as being stolen when VIN number is reregistered.

Not saying they are all crooks but as/when/if the collective DVLAs around europe get some sort of agreement/mutual understanding in place, then maybe a few people are going to be left very unhappy and very out of pocket.

Agreed But he is not claiming it is a Westie

it clearly says "Westfalia look alike"

It looks like one to walk away from. Saw it this morning on fleabay - said something about being easy to revert to 4WD - despite the syncro gear box being knackered. Various other bits look suspicious leaving aside the Westy lookalike issues.
