T25 front suspension advice

Post by merseajim »

Merseajim here, a newbe to this forum.

My question is about squeaking T25 front suspension, reading the forums I suspect the front wishbone bushes need replacing which I intend to
carry out in the future.
Is there any way quietening them down in the short term using some form of lubricant, ie WD40 etc or will I have to put up with the noise till they are replaced ?

hi :ok i had exactly same issue, drove me made, thought it was gonna be wishbone bushes re-newall time, had a root around, while m8 bounced on van door step, localised the squeek, then took a chance and removed the shock absorber, heavily greased the rubber bump stop on the top of shock with copper grease, put it all back :D quiet as a mouse no more squeeking, lot easier than wishbone option, happy days :D all the best gazulu.... :ok
KEEP RIGHT ON, TILL THE END OF THE ROAD !!!!

I would jack her up and check out any play to be sure they aren't shot. Mine squeeked right upto the tyre going pop as the very inside .. and i do mean right on the inside of the tyre as they scrubbed out. from the outside of the van a visual check showed loads of tyre wear left but if the bushes go they can affect the camber and scrub the inside of the tyres out pretty quickly. New bushes and get the tracking /camber set back up sorted it. :ok
