Anyone got any thoughts (or even pics) of a twin slider with at least a cooker, fridge, gas storage and a floor mounted cupboard (or two).
Our new one (which we might keep, or might not - see https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=92518" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) has a half height "partition" behind the front seats and I thought of fitting the cooker, fridge etc against that ?
You can either shove it behind the front seats like the 'Badsliders' used to have. 'Angel' on here also has one I believe.
OR
you could duplicate the Holdsworth 'Vision' arrangement where the furniture etc is in the rear area. Members with this arrangement I know of are 'blueangel' and 'thebobster'.
Of course there's nothing to say you still have to be able to get in and out of both doors
With a bit of cleverness you might be able to come up with a camper unit that was usable from both sides (sitting inside and standing outside) for those occasions where you want to cook outside. There was a twin-slider Split at Vanfest with a unit built across the door, although I can't remember whether it actually had hob/sink/etc in it.
Or perhaps have a section that swings out when the door's open like the cookers on Moonraker bays do, and would leave a gap you could climb in and out of?
Maybe have a freestanding unit that could be fitted to either side of the van depending on where you were going (and thus which door you wanted to keep clear). Or then just take it out to revert to an empty twin slider.
Looks from the photo like you've got the rails for a middle row of seats on there under the carpet. Wonder if those might be useful for anchoring your unit to?

Thanks for the input Dash, the bit I have quoted from you above was the way I was thinking, like "semi free standing" and therefore removable when not in use.

I'm not absolutely certain but I think that would scupper your registering it as a 'Motor Caravan' on the vehicle V5
As silky rightly says, we had a twin slider. Absolutely loved the layout which the timbertechs built for us. Further details can be found on my website here http://www.funplace2b.co.uk/vw/interior.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it really did work well, and both cupboards behind the front seats where totally removeable if needed. Meant we could also fit a travel cot in when the bed was pulled out. We used both sliding doors, quite often running an awning off one side, and the fiamma wind out off the other. Great space when camping!
Thechubsdub had a really nice twin slider before they went to the T5 side
I reckon a removable unit would be the dogs. A lot to be learnt from the split and bay era on that front. One that can cover one side and when you have an awning up it can go in that - giving you lots of room in the van.
As said before - lots of fun to be had.
Good effort for finding such a peach of a van - hope you keep it.
