hi there,
i've just bought a 1990 t25 that i'm converting to a camper.
i've just assembled a volkswares rock and roll bed. the company that sold it to me said that i'll have to build a box somewhere for it to fit properly.
does anyone know anything about this?
thanks in advance.
john.

Re: newbie question
Hi John, not sure but it could be on the floor bit (bulk head I think) above the engine where you build a box. So the bed has something to rest on once opened.
Like I say not certain as my van is still a shell but I have read this forum so much and seen a few vans.
If it is there's a thread or 2 on here of people building this box!!
Good luck mate. Jon.

Re: newbie question
Hi John,
As i understand, you build a platform over the engine bay area to level the bed. I have seen a few ingenious examples of how people have gone about this and incorporated some extra storage for leads etc at the same time.
On another note, what is your opinion on the Volkswares bed? We are strongly considering buying one this week and would be good to hear what you think about it?
Cheers,
Danny

Re: newbie question
Having seen both volkswares and bluebird at a show I went for the sturdier looking bluebird bed. I wasn't happy with how the volksworld bed located when it was a seat or it's use of wire mesh for the seat

Re: newbie question
thanks for the replys. looks like i have a bit more woodwork to do so.
the bed is ok. was slightly difficult to assemble, and the instructions were terrible.
luckily there's a brilliant video on youtube for assembling it.

Re: newbie question
Cruz, so you rate the Bluebird seat then? I take it they do not need MDF boards? How easy (or hard) was the fitting of it, and does it swap from seat to bed smoothly?
Sorry for all the Q's, and hi-jacking the thread
