Left-hand tail light fuse blown

Post by colouredFunk »

Hey,

For some reason my Left-hand tail light fuse keeps on blowing. I've taken it to V.W AirFix twice, each time Darren thinks it's fixed, I take it away and by the time I get it home (40miles aways) the rear left light stops working, check the fuse, and it is blown!

Can anyone help me out? I'm new to electronics but am keen to learn what the crack is with it. And I can't take it to V.W airfix as it takes 3 hours to get there and back.

Any think I can check?

Thanks.

Kaan.

BLOWN FUSE

Only an idea, had same problem on a T2 many years ago, remove rear light complete, , check wires to see no insulation worn, if OK follow wires to see if every thing is solid and not chafed. Good luck... Hope you have better luck with your electrics than I am

you could run a new wire from your other light.it may be a few things that may cause the problem and im sure darren sorted out one or more of these before he sent you on your way with it all working fine.

hey guys thanks for your replies!! Interesting about running a new wire from the other light, that will definetly be my backup plan.

I've tried following the cables but they all go in a plastic tube and go places where the sun don't sun! :?
