electrolux fridge rm122 newbie recommission thread

Post by xpress »

hi there. the van has never had a fridge in it before. i am looking to fit this fridge. i have a few questions, i hope you can help me. in the following pictures, it shows the thread coming out of the back of the fridge. where can i get an attachment for this that would sit on a gas hose from the gas bottle?

also, this is the hose i want to connect up to the fridge. could anyone explain these two brass gas taps on the left and right, is one for the fridge and one for the other things running off one bottle?:

this is the connector on the end of this hose at the moment. i take it that this will not screw on directly to the thread coming out of the back of the fridge on picture 1? it looks like a piece of copper pipe has been cut off this connector:

another question, (thanks for your help) there is a range of motion on the flue thing at the back, is this normal? it seems to be riveted on each side but there's play there:

the following picture is the back of the fridge, with the black and red bullet spades for the 12v, what do these normally go into, a fuse box of some sort, could you show me a link to one that you would use? and any details of bits that i will need to get this going:

these are the bits i have so far:

basically, i don't even know if this fridge works, and i am at the start of putting it in the van, i have the pdf for it, refers to drilling the hole to allow gas to escape and installing it into a cupboard. any advice and help is greatly appreciated, and any pictures of how your flue bit is installed into the side of your van would be appreciated also.

:ok

There's installation instructions in this manual http://www.club80-90.co.uk/pages/downlo ... xRM122.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; may not be your exact model but will probably act as a guide.

here's a few pictures of my fridge, flue first. My flue wobbles too - don't worry about it.

gas and electrical connections on the top at the front - ignore little yellow rings

the brass knuckle in your photo looks like a two way valve. I can't really help you with specific gas brass connectors etc, sorry.

Bin all the black flexi pipe, probably well out of date.
Get some new hose http://www.bes.co.uk/products/071.asp#13120" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
the brass fitting looks like a union type fitting, or you might just need a 8mm (1/4") nut and olive. Fit that on with some 8mm copper then push your new hose on and secure with clips. the other end of the hose pushes on to your regulator and is again secured with clips. If your not confident, you should get someone to do it for you

cheers for replies, that makes sense. i am also trying to find a caravan shop nearby that might be able to throw some light on the matter.

looks like it might be a BSP Taper Male to Fulham Nozzle that i need to connect to the union on the fridge hose in the first picture. then with the fulham nozzle i can attach new hoses with o-ring clips. does that look right to anyone else?

this will fit http://www.bes.co.uk/products/071.asp#6244" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; cant see it being taper as it's a union fitting (same as nut and olive)
