strip gaffer tape made my van run much better

Post by slowcoach »

I was out in manchester yesterday, and when i got back to the van to leave, it was running really rough and actually wouldnt hold itself at idle for more than 5 seconds. anyway, the join between the air filter box and the throttle body / intake manifold (mines an injection) had all but come off, and letting in a lot of air from inside the engine bay and bypassing the AFM and filter completely. must have been a famous manc pothole. so i shifted the air box back and clamped it in (its never been a great seal or fit) and gaffered tightly around the join and jubilee clip to make an airtight seal into the engine.

im almost sad to say it runs better now than it has in the 2 years ive owned it

Hello,

Hurray :D :D

Long live the gaffer tape

Indispensible when building up air cooleds. Blocking off any air leaks, same for the holes when you take out the pre heat flaps.

If you insist you can even get out of the **** around leaky pushrod tubes,

Oh. and it even comes in colours to match the engine :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Cordialement,

:ok
