Recently scored a dash with rev counter and digital clock (actually had to buy the whole van, but hopefully I can sell that).
Everything was fine until I wanted to adjust the digital clock. I can’t adjust it.
I thought the holes in the dash didn’t line up with the clock so I removed the clock from the dash. It all looks complete, plastic arms with rubber boots on the end of the arms. The metallic tracks look ok. Still can't adjust the clock actuating the arms directly. Should there be something under the rubber boots?
OR
How are you supposed to adjust the clock?
OR
Is there another way to adjust the clock?
OR
Must I only connect my battery at midnight?

Assuming you mean one of these. There are two little indents below the display. One on the left. One on the right. You need to poke something like a ballpoint pen into these.

Re: Can't adjust my Digital Clock
similar but not the same. The indents on the dash didn't adjust the clock.
With mine there a black plastic piece that fits in-front of the clock, but still behind the dash, those are the indents you push trough the dash. The black plastic bit pushes white tabs on the clock. Even pushing the white tabs directly on the clock, with the clock removed from the dash but still powered up I can't adjust it.

Some types of digital clocks you have to press and hold until the digits that you want to change are flashing - have you tried that?

Re: Can't adjust my Digital Clock
yeap, tried short hits and long holds and tried two buttons at once, nothing seems to work.
I can't see how holding the button down shorts the adjustment pins, it's only rubber boot contacting the PCB.

Re: Can't adjust my Digital Clock
They have a conductive surface on the rubber. You can clean the pads with meths and a cotton bud gently to clean them - not too hard or you will remove the conductive layer. There is usually some very convoluted way of doing it - I have a tidal and moon phase/watch and I have to dig the manual out every time I need to change it. (have to re-enter the latitude and longitude if I go to a different area).
Hold one button down for a while and jab the other whilst it is being held down? It's amazing the number of combinations that you can use with numbers of jabs etc.

Re: Can't adjust my Digital Clock
thanks, I'll have a closer look at the pads, possibly clean them. I'll also try and short the terminals with something metalic to see if the clock responds.

Re: Can't adjust my Digital Clock
Hey there, I've had exactly the same problem with my clock. Taken it out and played around with it and it just won't change. I discovered everytime I disconnected the battery the clock changed it's time. I did this over and over again until it read the correct minutes (ish) and only an hour out. It means the clock is fine during the winter, but an hour out in the summer. Not the most sophisticated way to solve the problem, but it's solved none the less. Just dreading changing the battery over and starting the whole process again.
