It's dead, can't get it to work on gas or power, was wondering wether it can be be repaired after seeing the cost of a replacement!

if you post this in the tech section under campers, there are some very clever chaps who could help diagnosing the problem with you..and save you some pennies :ok

Hm you offering, your clever
There might be nothing wrong with your fridge, in fact I would almost, ALMOST bet :rofl that it is a problem with the gas or lack of it or your not following the right proceedure to light on gas and/or there may not be a 12v supply (this is only present when engine running and other factors)
so what have you tried?

c'mon then...lets try n sort this fridge out.

what model fridge is it ?
has it ever worked for you ?
if so..when was the last time it worked?
what have you tried so far ?
can you see a spark when you try to ignite it?
have you got a zig unit ?
is there any gas left in your bottle ?
is there a tap valve in the gas pipe to it?
we need some info before we advise you to take it out to bench test stuff :ok

It's an eloctrolux rm 122 I think , this is the first time we've tried to get it running, the zig and split charge have just been rewired by an auto electrician who connected the fridge but it was lifeless on 12v and mains, I've taken the fridge out connected directly to full gas bottle its sparking but won't ignite ,think I'm doing the right proceedure for lighting though it's that old the symbols have worn off the controls! Any ideas what to try or is it time to throw it away???

to make sure you have tried to light it properly you need to turn the control knob to about 10/11 oclock ..hold it in for around 5 secs..continue holding it in after that and keep pressing the igniter(it might take a while if its not been used in along time)..continue holding the control knob in all the time and hopefully you will see/hear the gas starting to combust untill its lit.once lit still continue to hold the control knob in for around 10 secs and hopefully itll stay in.

Hey presto! It's lit but goes out when turned right up full, but I'll let it run for a while and see if it gets cold! Thanks for the help :ok
