A chilling thread?

Post by vic20 »

Hi folks

Need to change our current fridge which is just a cheapy blue coolbox thing with a fan in the lid. Reasons:
A lot of condensation
Drains battery quickly if just parked
Even on hookup it is still more than the charger so runs slowly after 3 or 4 days
When not pluged in it makes a coolbox

Therefore need to replace and looking for something that is
Smaller [possibly, but not tiny beer fridge]
Has a thermostat so not always running
more efficeint
Does not necessarily need to be a good coolbox as could have a separate one
Ideally 12/240v

Any ideas?

Many thanks

I’ve got a similar box to you, but mine is 12v or 240v. You’re right; it does drain the battery, so I only use it on 12v whilst the engine’s running or for short periods. Obviously, if you haven’t got hook up it can’t be used, but if you have its brilliant. To be honest, other than the conventional 12v/240v/gas, I don’t know of any other alternative.
