Hi,
I've been told to check the breather pipe on my T25 1600 non turbo Diesel engine because oil has started to come out of the dipstick where it joins the engine block, can anyone tell me what I am looking for and where to find it and when I've found it what to do with it e.g clean it out of replace it??
I think you're looking to check the CCV valve (Crankcase ventilation) - if it fails then the crankcase pressure from blowby gases forces the pressure out of the dipstick sometimes. The valve sits on top of the cam cover and is often referred to as a "puck". They are usually sealed I'm afraid so replacement is best.
if it's on top of the valve cover, connected to a "puck" and goes to the air inlet somewhere, then that's the one I reckon. Sorry not overly familiar with the exact layout of the CS engine..
