Iam replacing worn out JX with good JR motor(ex golf td) have stripped replacement motor and have usual small cracks between valves and in swirl chambers,
I also have a good uncracked head but origin unknown, JR head no 068 103 373T, unknown head 068 103 373D both heads have hydro tappets, valves same size and heads seem identical, could unknown head be non turbo ? could it be used on turbo bottom end ?, have tryed vw with number but no joy, can anybody give any help with this problem????.

Re: 1600 td head identification
Simple answer is they are all the same and do exactly the same job.
PS, unless the cracks between the valves age gaping these are simply surface scars and nothing to worry about.

Fritz thanks for reply(sorry for delay been away),not to concerned with cracks in old head, but guides in spare head are much better, thats why I wanted to use it and also no cracks.
