Newest addition to the syncro forum ranks is Tyson..

Big is beautiful

But finding 2nd and 3rd is dreadful.

He's got Ford alloys on and they're 15inch. Now, my understanding is there's 14" and 16" so how is this gonna effect things. There does seem a slight pull to left when driving...

Propshaft removed? I hope it was for fuel economy reasons rather than a duff diff/VC.

Hi, and thanks for the welcome...

It does seem to be the one. I guess quite recognisable :) as Syncro's are. And they are a very nice couple.

I'm Carlisle based so vehicle easy to view before buy. There's bits that need tidying and the gear change is dubious at best :? but all good fun.

Hoping to get away this weekend camping... Don't know where, just go anywhere..!

Good luck with it then :ok

Just check that lever offset against detent (box under the cab) for the gearchange is what it should be (its in Bentley) when lever right over to the right.

there's loads in the Wiki about waht are the priorities when going theorugh the selector mechanism (quick check is from back to front, especially a loose cup on shaft)

Please could you put your (Carlisle) location your Profile thanks

That old familiar feeling.. Underneath the camper late at night grinding. Just to get 1 rusty bolt out. But sparewheel carrier dropped.

There's play in this (hope photo makes sense)

Image

Bolt worn and the bolt-holes in the metal yoke. Bushes don't seem bad.

Looking for best way to repair this.. any suggestions??

A weekend trip to a wedding so a quick fix...

With a tip from Ian, I tacked the bolt head and nut into the yoke. And it transformed the gear change. And made the trip a lot more enjoyable...
