gearboxes
hi everyone been to see a couple of vans now should the gearbox feel tight when changing through the gears like on a car.it just seemed to me that the gearstick felt a little sloppy could this be linkages or somethink,cheers dave
its better to burn out than to fade away 1.9 dg petrol transporter1988

Usually sloppy, usually linkages!
Repair kits are available to make this better but you still have a long way between the gear stick and the gearbox for a little slack to creep in.
So long as all the gears function correctly (even with a bit of slop!) and there are no unusual whines, rumbles or bits falling off, then it should be ok!
