carburetter

Post by mariner »

Hi

Holidaying in Scarborough having come up from Bristol and had an issue with a badly fitted carb that was put on in Jan well before I bought it. Sorted by a great RAC chap but think I need to get it balanced and looked at before I head back down to Stratford. Anyone recommend a name/number of someone in the area who I could go to?

Any help much appreciated.

Air cooled twin carb?
water cooled single?
No need to balance a single.

What do you mean by "badly fitted"

I know of volksmagic in oldbury M5 j2

Cheers, think thats going to be a bit far.

Its air cooled twin carbs that are not vw. Working its way loose was first problem but accelerater arm had also been positioned so that it cut through the rubber of one of the spark plugs to the wire and was therefore earthing every time tried to turn it over. Just needed moving an inch or two to the right. Lke I say, fitted by a monkey. Don't think the air/fuel intake is quite right atthe moment and just want it to have a once over.
