Is this an original Devon Interior?

Post by mpl_gr »

Hi, I have had my Devon for about a year now and thought it had a home made interior however recently someone told me that they thought it might be an early original so I asked on the brickyard and the JK forum. Someone on the brickyard said they had seen another the same as mine but not as tidy so now I'm wondering if it may be original.
I tried phoning Devon themselves but they weren't really interested in talking to me once they established I wasn't looking to buy a new van, so now I'm asking you guys, do you know if it is original or does anyone know anything about this interior at all?

I have more pics if that would help but didn't want to flood the forum with my first post.
Thanks for looking and I hope someone can shed some light for me.

Thanks for the relpies guys. The reason I thought it was a one off when I bought it was that a couple of friends have Devons like the one's in dugcati's link and obviously nothing like mine but it is VERY good quality for a home build and I have now been told of 2 other vans with identical interiors so I was hoping to find some history on it but not having much luck.

Is the van a high top or a pop-top?
Looks like the Komet or a Kameo interior however the timber/veneer finish is wrong.. Either way it's well done from the photos. Is it stated as a motorhome/caravanette on the logbook?

The van is a poptop.

When I got the van a previous owner had painted everything inside with a nice thick layer of marine varnish, took me about 2 days but I rubbed this down and put a couple of layers of normal varnish on.
As far as I can remember it is a motothome on the logbook but would have to check.
It also has this on the n/s B pillar.

Not very clear but I will make a note of the numbers later if that helps.

Thats deffo a Devon bus/roof - I'm still lost as to the interior, I can only think of 2 things.. either the interior is from another bus or it's as you say some custom/early/prototype thing.

Which ever way it's a nice looking bus - keep it and keep it original :ok

Devon once but now no longer.. probably retains the leisure loom an other odds
But the interior has been replaced with proper wood by the looks with a four burner and larger capacity fridge.
