Hi guys.
Just noticed when I jumped out the passenger side of the van that the wheel seems to be very hot. I have gone round and felt the others and they are warm but this one is very hot. Any ideas what if anything this may be?
Had just had to have the drivers side front wheel bearing changed so I hoping that this is not a problem with the passenger bearing now.

Ditto stuck brake piston.
Our O/S hub did a similar thing a few weeks ago, got so hot there was actually black smoke coming from the wheel!! Took the wheel trim off and the grease on the hub was bubbling! Strangely it freed itself off and was ok after that. Thought it might be the wheel bearing but once I took the caliper off it was super smooth. Have just replaced the calipers and the inboard piston was completely seized.

If it has been going on for some time the pads will have uneven wear

/\/\/\ What they said.
Also be careful if it gets too hot around that area you could possibly warp a disc, although it does take a lot.

Au contraire, mon ami: Warping a disc is quite easy on a T25. (the rueful voice of experience..!) Procrastinate over this job at your peril..

2nd note to other reply* if your bearings have got so hot as too 'bubble the grease' then you need to have a close look at those bearings for signs of overheat damage (discolouration of bearing rollers and races, blue tindge) and the minimum would be clean and re-pack the bearings with NEW grease.

Re: excessive heat coming from front passenger wheel
Fair point Martin. To be specific it was the copperslip around the wheel studs that was bubbling on the surface, but you're right, would be daft not to check further for any bearing damage or at least degradation of the grease.
Added to next weekends 'to do' list!!
Cheers,
Rob
