Camping in suburbia
No Ducky , not how you might interpret the title !. With Olympic preparations and all Weymouth area looks a bit booked up for just turning up at Camp sites and am not keen on remote Lay-byes as noisy and security aspects. Always wondered about parking up in a respectable looking suburb for the night if really pushed. As we have a pop up roof we are obviously camping so perhaps inform any close nearby houses that we are not travellers or scrotes and won't ask to use the toilets or stay there for 3 weeks . Any experiences or thoughts ?

Personally I'd phone around the local pubs, after google mapping the ones with car parks, and find one that would let you use their carpark in return for a few drinks at the bar. No matter how many neighbours say they're happy for you to park on their road there will always be some NIMBY just waiting to complain. Having said that every year a dozen pikey caravans rock up on our local playing field, everyone complains and it takes the council two weeks to move them, so you should be ok parking where you like for a least a week
