Water gushing out of expansion tank after a run! HELP!!

Post by farley5258 »

Hi All,

So we took our new T25 for a run yesterday with no problem until we stopped.. then we noticed coolant gushing out from under her.. i posted yesterday in another topic but was asked to find the source of the "leak".. so the same thing happened today after a short 5 mile run.. so as the water/coolant was gushing out i opened the number plate flap and saw that it was coming from the top of the top up tank.. the temp guage is staying steady around the half way mark.... but she's obviously overheating.. isn't she?

I'm a total novice here so any advice would be welcome!

Many thanks for any advice/ideas/solutions!

Oh, i did take the cap of the header tank and could blow/suck in both directions... should i be able to do that? would that be the problem??

Cheers

:ok

Hi All!!

Thought i'd check back in and give you an update.. i have to say, fingers crossed, but it looks like a new "dalek" cap and a new pipe have sorted the problem!! How chuffed do i feel with myself.. especially that i haven't had to pay someone else to do it!!! Just taken her out for a good run, the same run that she leaked water after on Sunday, and not a drop!!! temp gauge is resting nicely just on the middle and no fountains of water pouring out of the expansion tank!!

So thanks for your advice!

suddenly my nice clean hands have taken on a greasy black glow but who cares! i'm lovin this!!!

:ok
