How is this done? just wondered before i give it an almighty tug?

Removing the standard rear view mirror is a complex and highly technical procedure which involves [listen carefully now] pulling it quite hard in a down and backwards direction - it'll come off in your hand...

Pushing it back up in the reverse direction worked for me...

I thought you were meant to rotate the base 90 degrees and then it just easily removes, thats what ive always done anyway. Refitting just the reverse of removal. This has worked very easily on several vans, and thought this was how they were designed, then again im probably wrong!

you are supposed to rotate them 90%, just couldnt remember which way when me n onion tried to put mine back after a wee modifycation ....hehe.....

erm, either direction, the way that will turn it to face the rear windscreen rather than the front, surely!?

yeah, thats the theroy, but not quite that easy in my van, and definately not with two fat blokes and a carpark full of "scenery" to oggle!
