gearbox change,pros n cons,ins n outs,pitfalls,easiest way

Post by oldiguana »

eyup ducks,im contemplating a gearbox changeon my van this week, ive got a 1.6 gearbox with a 1.9 diesel engine so ive sourced a suitable box,and i will have to change the bell housing,so i was just wondering if there is an easy way to perform said miracle,i will probably have to do it on my back so anything that can help me along my way would be most appreciated...regards

Clean up the cv bolts , give them a good wd40ing , make sure you have either the correct size allen key in good nick , or a good ring spanner or both sometimes , and a very good set of mole grips
