Hey there. I'm an ex Peak District local. Could highly recommend Pindale we still often stay there when out on a skate weekend. After a long skate a 20 minute drive just seems too far. It's located up a quiet track, but is really close to Castleton and you're right in the peaks

Other than that there is the 3 stags at Wardlow. It is on a main road through which might put you off. The pub is an experience though and you need to be aware of country pursuits. Lots of rabbits, salmon etc for sale. Best way to eat is POACHED!! Geoff has a field next to the pub which we've stayed in.

There is a nice layby by Grindleford Station at the bottom of the hill and they serve a good breakfast in the morning. Though no toilets.
Worst case I've got a drive and we're 1 mile from the Peaks.

Re: Derbyshire-peak district camping
Heathy Roods farm. Cheap as chips, lovely location and a very short distance to the manifold valley (thors cave, wetton mill, manifold cycle path etc)
Pub in Butterton nearby

I thought that was what you meant to be honest hence why I posted those links as they have multiple reviews rather than relying on just a couple on here that may have stayed there....Coopers has 98 reviews.

We've stayed in a small field behind the Wild Boar Inn near Wincle twice now. Very basic (small shower block, toilets and drinking water) but pretty scenery and a friendly pub with cheap and hearty pub food. Only £6 a night too.
