Evening all,
I've a 1985 1.9 wbx with a DH engine which failed it's MoT a week or so ago. In an attempt to bring it's HC emissions down I've serviced it and run Wynns engine cleaner they the oil. I ran the engine at a fast idle for a quarter of n hour as instructed and then set about emptying the oil via the sump drain, only to find that the plug is rounded off. Size wise I think that it's a 13mm fitting, and as it's European I'd expect it to be metric, but it actually appears to be closer to 1/2".
I'm going to take it back to the garage Monday for a bit of additional work, but I'm worried that the Wynns will do damage overthe weekend. Is it anything to worry about?

Re: Rounded sump plug
my sump plug is rounded and stuck in, so I undo the oil strainer when it comes to servicing the van.
I shouldn't think the wynns will do any damage, but I'd want it out as soon as I could get to it?

Re: Rounded sump plug
I know the engine flush shouldn't be left in there, You can extract the oil with a suction pump through the fill hole. You can buy them at Machine mart or similar. To get the sump plug off maybe file the egdes to get the corners back and get a good 6 sided socket on it maybe knock on on a shade smaller and metric if its imperial. You may open a can of worms though, stripped threads, Bolt glued in etc you may wish you left it alone with the oil in even if it is contaminated.
