electric powered air con

Post by 16vmini »

ok , so i know the basics of how air con works , and the at the heart is a compressor. normally running off the engine.

now i have fitted a electric pump for my powersteerng. was just wondering if i could do the same with a air con compressor ?
basically run it off a electric motor....

if that worked , i could then when hooked up at a campsite .. have air con running ....

now i am guessing there are some flaws with this idea as i am sure it would have been done....

i am guessing its down to the power required to turn the compressor ? would be big amps ?

as you can see .. i have not put much thought into this , apart from the drive home last night ! LOL
