a good campsite

Post by davidm1164 »

Hi
We pick our first van up on sat from leicester, and are travelling back to manchester, does anyone know of a nice place on route, for us and our dogs to stop over, and try the van out.
being newbies, this is by far the best site i have found for good sound advice, and very friendly people.
Thanks in advance Dave and Karen.

Call in at The Duke ... http://www.pubutopia.com/pubs/B/Buxton/ ... ork%20Inn/ Derek will give you a warm welcome  It's on the A515 between Ashbourne and Buxton, leave the M1 at 25 across to Ashbourne, A515 signposted for Buxton where you can pick up the A6 for Manchester or the Goyt Valley road which is far more scenic.

good call Ian, good ale and food served - good steak pie if I recall.

Also look at the top thread about funplace2be - there might be some nice campsite to try out too.

Great site and wonderful location in the peaks. No roads just peace and beauty. Local pub is nice for ale but food was a bit average last time
