A-pillar trim

Post by Mick & Tracey »

A kind soul has relieved me of one A-pillar trim (black U-section that goes on front).

Does anyone know where I can get replacement? Was sure JK did them but can't find them anymore.

Cheers

Mick

If the link doesn't work look under - VW BUS T3 80-92, Aufbauteile, Aufbauteile
Numbers 251853705 & 251853706 (about the middle of the page).

Great, thanks - found it from part number.

How do you find this stuff from the menus though?

I bet there's loads of great stuff on here if only the search engine was easier. Sounds like a brill job for someone to create an english version of the catalogue!!

I think I've just found the gaiter frame for my gear lever - 253711120 though it almost feels like lucky dip. Fab - I've been looking for one of these for years.

Next quest is for rear washer bottle cover for multivan. Please tell me you've got the part number for that.... :D

I don't seem to have a problem finding stuff.

There is a lot of stuff there and most of it is good quality.

Might still be available at VW.
I have no access to the catalogue at home so can't help.

Not available from VW in the uk any more but available from classic in germany @ 15 euros per side plus vat and shipping (they are handed)

I think brickwerks did sell them as well as they get stuff from classic EMAIL them

Heritage also sell them as they are agents for classic (when they have stock with un-heritage like mark-up)

Mini (car) wheel arch trim is very close to stock A pillar trim. Replaced mine with that. Do use some kind of mastic on these trims tho or they can slide off.

Mini trim does not fit early gutters or a pillar as it is C shaped.

Well, if by early you mean earlier sliding door as a reference point, then it does fit. Been driving around like that for three years. As I said, use a little mastic and its going nowhere, plus you can get it in black or chrome. My Caravelle had chrome trim (even harder to get for a T25) and lady selling it was kind enough to cut a short section of chrome mini wheel arch trim for me so I could try before buying. Cost about a tenner to do A pillars and gutters front to back. Warm it slightly before fitting and it fits very well.
