Electric windows
Hi you all, any ideas. I have recently purchased a modul to fit to my alarm system that closes the electric windows as you set the alarm. In the wireing instructions it states that you cut the main feed from the switch to the winder motor and connect the unit On checking I find there are more live wires from the switch to the motor than I expected. I checked my trusty Haynes but no wireing diagrams for windows. Can anybody HELP???? I have a 1991, 2.1, injection Type25 Thanks ..... OLD ONE

From the Bently....
It's a little unclear how this works but I'd think this is it.
Get a voltmeter and check this out.
Each window motor has two wires. Red and Black.
Pressing the open switch will make one wire +ve and the other -ve.
Presseing the close switch will reverse the situation.
The Non drivers window is fed from the slave switch in the drivers door.

Just striped the door again, spent 2 hours trying, still no luck. One thing in the instructions, it says that for "POSITIVE AT REST/NEGATIVE LIFTING WINDOWS" you have to rewire ignition feed through a relay. Now this I can almost understand. Anybody know what type they are on the Bus, or how do I check. Look forward to some suggestions. Thanks

So,
What is happening at the motor?
Do the motors get +ve and -ve swiched around by the push switch?
The bently diagram shows both motor wires being +ve at rest (ignition on)but the diagrame is a little confusing.
I'd be looking to fit a double pole relay to supply the necesary voltage when your control box output goes +ve.

At rest , ignition off, no motor wires live. At rest ignition on, both Red and Black motor wires live.

OK.
Thats what Bently shows.
The 'online' version has been removed so I'll try to scan the diagrame and uploadit tonight.
Relay 24 switches the power via fuse 37.
As above Id be looking to get two off double pole relays (one in each door) and use them to do the job of the window switches.

Hi All....Just to let you know the saga continues. Purchased the correct relays to change Pos lift to Neg lift. Or what ever way round it all gos Spent a little time soldering wires to terminals, connected every thing up, and by heck still not working. Thinking cap back on. Or forget the idea.

Tony Hi mate, yes I do have a diag, but I dont know how to let you view it. I am not only thick on T3s, but on PCs as well. I dont think I bypassed any original relays as the instructions that came with the unit do not mention this....... In a nut shell.....I have cut the wire from switch to motor(lift) Connected the module in cut wire. Conected 12v 30A relay to switch(as per instructions included with moduel) Up to now I am only working on O.S. door and window, and in fact no wires have been cut as yet, just used connections, in case it has to back as original

Can you scan the diag, or digi photo it? then post it to muchos or email it to me? I can pm my email.
Saying you have "connected the module as instructions" doesent mean much to me as I havent read them.
Have you connected anything other than the module to the battery +ve?
The window switches only work with the ignition on. They have a small light in them do they light up when your module trys to close the windows?
Dont give up yet.

Hi Tony...Yes I think I can Email Diag. Not connected anything else to Bat +, the relays are to Ignition+. As regards the lights in switches, I had not noticed if they came on , can only just see them when it is dark. Thanks again for your help.
