Durdle Door/Lulworth

Anyone got any recommendations?

Is there really only Durdle Door holiday park that has access to Durdle Door itself? It all seems very commercial.

Anyone familiar with Eweleaze?

Stopped down at the Durdledoor site a couple of months ago, it was ok. Got in to the 'Seaview' bit which did have great views, but you will need to level up with plenty of blocks! It was good to get up just before dawn and wander down to the cliffs with dogs and just sit in the peace and quiet, taking in the sights before all the crowds turn up later in the morning. Mrs Dubdogs, however, took that opportunity to get some extra sleep without me snoring!

The site itself was fine, more of a static site but it's the views and surroundings that make the difference.

You dont have to stay at the site to get to Durdle Door, drive to the site and a road goes round the back of it to a car park
I have stayed on the site, which ok but expensive. Beware some of the pitches get water logged in heavy rain, best pitches are in the trees or as dubdogs says on the ones with sea views, but they get battered when its windy

One of the reasons we try not to stay on campsites. All we want is a patch of grass to stay on for the night.

Same tbh but I'm happy to pay for a good location and a stand pipe and toilet block is useful.

Durdle Door is a fond memory and I really wanted to take my daughter camping virtually in sight of it.

That amount of money per night puts it out of range unfortunately!

we often go to the area but have never been to Durdle Door. Just googled it and looks really good.

was there last weekend and theres a no overnight camping sign in the car park as there is all over the south coast
didnt like the look of the site there....looked like a mini butlins!
we ended up in a place called wool not too far away £18 a night site 5min from monkey world.
all i want is a quiet place to park up but the south coast dont got knowere!gets harder to wild camp every time I go!

We used to camp at a site near "Toms Field" in Langton Matravers.

Dont know its name and cant find it on the net but you turn up and pitch and the chap would see you in the morning for the rent. Prices were never over the top.

Walks to the coast and the Dancing Ledges are at the back of the site. There is a tap and toilet/shower block and a short 2 min walk to a locl shop.

Google maps, enter postcode BH19 3HN. Find Toms Field camp site, to the left (as your looking at the pc) look for Capstan Field (road name) just to the left is the entrance and long driveway leading to the campsite.

we stayed there too...acton field i think its called. payed a tenner for the night, bit of a challenge to find a flat spot, was quite busy!
good pubs in the village though and nice walks up on the cliffs

wish I did have a syncro for that site
