auto gearbox advice

I swear im paranoid about my van but im worried the next big lroblemis here. Ive noticed theres an audiable clunk when mybox changes from 2nd to1st and whenputting it in d r or pp.only happens whenwarm and changes up fine. Isthis normal or acceptable? Atf level is ok.

Mine clunks from D to R and vice versa. (81 Aircooled auto)

Always has done, even after AT fluid change. I just live with it to be honest.

cheers, that puts my mind at rest. I think it was there before to be honest but I´m hearing (and imagining) every little thing now when I´m driving.

have you checked your front gear box mounting. had same in mine and mount was knackered. new one cured prob for me but there not cheap.
