reverse and fog lights

HI does anybody know if its possible to test the reverse light switch on gearbox?,bulbs and fuse seem ok,but no reverse light..Also fog light not working,again fuse and bulb ok,going to look at switch on dash tomorrow ,.any ideas?

to test the switch use a ohmmeter set to continuity put it across the two pins on the reverse switch in the gearbox (nearside in front of driveshaft) and engage reverse you should have continuity
feed is fused live to switch and through and on to bulb
