Dear All
My holdsworth conversion dropped a valve with no warning sadly and I am looking for a new engine
Has anyone got any advice about ELITE VW? they were very helpful over the phone but I did read some not so good reviews?? I was thinking to go for a 1.9tD in exchange for the current knackered 1.6td to avoid the usual twenty car tail back I cause on hills.
Any advice or experiences would be gratefully received...
Best Wishes
Margaret

Re: ELITE VW
Not sure they do 'conversions', the 1.6TD is the standard engine where-as the 1.9TD is out of summat else like a Golf for e.g. Perhaps best to spend some time reading the Alternative Engine Forum
As for Elite themselves our 2.1DJ has done over 50,000 miles in 3 years, nothing to report. Cue the usual stack of nae-sayers .....

Dear Ian
Thankyou for your reply its so kind of you; They stated that they could exchange , i had a good talk iwth them and they seemed really helpful and its good to know that yours has been going fine. I was all set to call them to give them the go ahead then I read loads of bad press about them on various forums and lost my nerve !
Thankyou Margaret

Re: ELITE VW
Same as Ian...only thing is they are a bit slower these days.. so if you're in a rush, try elsewhere.
elite engines are more of a good working replcement engine, that has had worn out parts replaced with servicable parts than a reconditioned/rebuilt with VW parts, one.

Re: ELITE VW
I've used them several times, including a replacement engine, a new clutch and an LPG service.
Every time they have been great, very helpful.
Good luck
