Plonker alert

Post by jpee »

Hi all

Changing starter motor. Thee small bell housing bush has, I'm sure, fallen into the casing. Am I right to assume that it is either small enough to fall to the bottom out of harms way, or is soft enough to get ground up and fall to the bottom without causing harm. or am I clutching at straws?

Thanks
Jpee

do you mean into the bottom of the bell housing?
if so, if you support the gearbox, you can undo the bellhousing to engine bolts, the nose mount , drop the gear linkage off and move the gearbox far enough from the engine to get it to drop out without undoing the driveshafts.

although like you id say it would be in the bottom out of harms way, it may end up in the clutch and cause costly badness.....
