Little vid from our Lake District mission

Post by v-lux »

Went up to the Lakes for 5 days or so before easter, couldnt have asked for better weather. It was my first time in the Lake District and to say i was gob smacked by how stunning it is would be an understatement!

Climbed Sca Fell pike, and the Old Man of Coniston. Wild camped most nights, except for one night in a campsite. Loads of places to stay, perfect van country, but most surprising of all.....loads of green lanes too!! Bonus!

Here's a little vid

Nice vid Al. We are going up there in early June - before the school holidays so hopefully not too busy. Ali knows the Lakes well but I've only passed through. Planning on climing Scafell Pike as well.

That's right Jed, it was my mate Matt that did the spray jobs and body work stuff. I still can't take it in properly really, he only really stopped doing it as he got the 'human cannonball" stunt man job. He'd only been doing it a couple of weeks....

The while thing is so outrageous it doesn't really seem real...

Still, it's quite an exit!

Great vid Al, it was shocking to hear about the accident, but as you say quite an exit.

The only problem with the lakes is the number of visitors in the holidays, makes you consider Scotland as an alternative, but then you have the other 300 miles to drive, and the midges. Still the syncro allows you to get away from the crowds which has to be one of the vehicles best qualities.

The Lakes are something else aren't they? Time I got back up there and tried some of the lanes (last time was hillwalking with mad Labrador in 1-man ultralight tent :rofl )

Hi Al

Sorry to hear about Matt. Lee told me a couple of days ago. I couldn't believe the story he was telling me, sounded so bizarre I thought it was unreal. Guess its a case of we just don't know when our turn is going end. Sure you'll have plenty of good memories to keep though.

Great vid of the lakes, one day when my camper is finished I hope to join up with you on a trip like that, I'll have to get plotting with Lee to see if we can route out some scenery and off road antics to compare in South Wales. Jeds is trying to muscle in on one idea. Told him he has to learn Calon Lan to sing around the fire, knowing him he probably will.

Bad news your dropping out of the Spanish trip, I'll do my best to have a couple of extra San Miguels for you.

Cheers Rich

Don't try a sing song with the Irish boys nearby, they'll stuff a penny whistle where the sun's rays rarely shine
