12v Cigarette lighter socket/iphone

Post by centro »

I have a Belkin Tunebase FM http://www.technology-guide.co.uk/image ... Direct.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for my iphone, which slots into the ciggarette lighter. Since these 2 items were not around when my T25 was built — VW did not consider what else — apart from a ciggarette lighter — could be used to draw power from the cigarette lighter.

The problm I have is when the phone and the Tune base are inserted, the weight is too much for the socket and the whole lot spins round and almost pulls the socket out.

Are there any alternatives to the standard lighter socket or any homebrew fixes to this. I would like to resolve it as I want to use the phones sat nav as well as play music.

Cheers

you could get a twwo/three into one cable - one end has the socket pluig and gose to your lighter socket - the othr end has two or three same sockets as the lighter socket - you could then place the other end in/onto some thing under /on the dash and stil have use of your toys - that's all i can think of

cheers B
