Re: diff locks?
Depends if you want to off road or not? If you do you won't get to far. You can get them fitted, normally as part of a gearbox/front diff rebuild (as they have to come apart). Then you have to source all the vacuum related stuff, so will work out quite expensive.KINGPRAWN wrote:my 2.1 westy pop dosen't have diff locks but does have aircon....was the option "one or tother"?? back in the day , am i at a serious disadvantage without?? is it possible/realistic to add??..........
Lots of german vans don't have diff locks, as they were options over there. UK was standard fitment
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

Re: diff locks?
Air con, no diff locks, could it be a US import, does it have or has it ever had an underslung ebber? If you post a picture of the outside of it showing the left hand side I could tell you, all the ones I have seen so far have had front and rear lockers, but that isnt to say they were all fitted with them.

I'm 99% sure its an American Vanagon then, I can't imagine anyone wanting to retro fit them (they bad, they ugly) springs to mind.
Joking aside thats not a bad thing.
Another clue would be a left hand drive with a mph speedo, although not conclusive by any means.
