One night stopover in the South West

Post by dubrich »

Hi all,

Anyone got any ideas for a one night stop over, preferably on the South West coast(Dorset/Devon)- somewhere cheapish, with hookup and near a pub/pubs?

Cheers!

Rich

Dunno how close to the sea you wated to be, or how far west, but weve stayed here in dorset before. In a village called Sixpenny Handley. nice tidy site in te heart of a peaceful village and the pub is just a stagger down the road!

The other one ive heard a lot about is toms field in Langton Matravers, the matravers villages on the Purbeck Coast are great, and the square and compass @ Worth Matravers is great.

Unfortunately this campsite is in the cool camping guide and been in the weekend papers so its probably full of pretentious chico warrior types from the home counties (no offence to our home counties members  but you know who i mean), but might be ok out of school holidays - no hookup tho

Just a thought, if you are only stopping for one night do you really need a Hook Up or do yo not have a decent 12v set up yet?

Cheers Louey - I did think of that...I think the leisure battery could cope for one night. I was thinking of just parking up near the coast but I may now go to the Bagwell Farm site in Weymouth as they have room :)

Had a great one night stop over in Bagwell Farm - very impressed with the site and there was another T25 there too! Highly recommended :ok
