April Scottish Syncro Owners Meeting

Post by Justavan »

Mothers Day is over Kids are on Easter Break. Some of us may be off for an Easter Holiday...........BUT

Andy from The Nutz has recommended what looks to be a very good FREE Off Road site near Livingstone ............. :ok
http://maps.google.co.uk/?UTF8&11=55...7&t=hU&z=17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I for one would be keen to give it a go as well as Lugnut so far so does anybody else want what looks like a bit of easy Off Roading for our first DIRTY OUTING. :mrgreen:

We are also keen to get a camping and Fishing trip on the go and again Andy has suggested Loch Tummel which has been a good location for some of us in the past.

I have a lovely location planned for later on maybe May or June when things are a bit warmer but information so far on permits for fishing and wild camping are not clear yet but will be sorted out soon as the effort should be well worth the couple of hours drive up the A9.

So over to you guys lets hear who is up for what when and where for April ................... :ok

We were thinking of going to Galloway national park as it has designated a "dark area" and the best place in Britain to star gaze.
I phoned them and asked them about camping overnight in a van and they quoted the Scottish code for the country and said NO it would not be allowed. Even when I said we were a young family. How on Earth are you meant to enjoy a clear nights sky and then take two young kids back to a campsite?

Nothing set in stone yet, had looked on the internet, forestry commision site, and saw they encouraged wild camping, my first thoughts were Loch Doon, but was looking for first hand knowledge.

They weren't too bothered last year about Wild Camping :wink: . There are loads of places available to camp when you have 4x4, I wouldn't let them put you off, it's a great place!

I am camping at Beecraigs on the weekend of the 29th April. Our village has 2 camping weekends a year. No other Syncros but a Bay will be in attendance. Lots of kids, lots of parents chilling so if its that weekend then I am out I'm afraid.
Cheers

Still listening to the discussion on the April meeting and just waiting on some definate plans.

For a little further down the line, an invite to the Haflinger club offroad in Penrith on the 26th June sounds like a good plan.
