Vents/Covers?

Post by itsawhalefish »

Hi

Just bought a 1982 Aircooled, Automatic, T25 last week.

I have noticed water has come in around the cupboard area... I'm thinking it could be coming in through the vents maybe? I'm hoping that someone might be able to tell me if the top vent in the picture is meant to have a cover over it like the one on the bottom? And if the one on the bottom is actually meant to have a seal or anything? Is the one on the bottom meant to be taken off when in use? It seems the wet area is only around the bottom of the inside.

Thanks for the help!

Water could be coming in through perished window seals.

I replaced the same upper vent as you have with the cover type. I sealed it to the van with non setting mastic
